Executive Director Search Update

The Montana Southern Baptist Convention continues to move forward with gratitude, prayer, and unity in the search for our next Executive Director.

Over the past several months, the Executive Director Search Committee prayerfully reviewed applications and interviewed a number of highly qualified and faithful leaders. We were deeply encouraged by the quality of candidates God brought forward and are thankful for every pastor and leader who sensed God’s leading to step into this process.

After much prayer, discussion, and discernment, the Executive Director Search Committee unanimously recommended Dr. Mikey Mewborn to the Executive Board. The Executive Board also interviewed Dr. Mewborn and unanimously voted to present him to the Montana Southern Baptist Convention for consideration as our next Executive Director.

Dr. Mewborn currently serves as Vice President and Dean of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee. He brings strong leadership experience, a deep love for the local church, and a genuine heart for pastors. Both the Search Committee and the Executive Board believe he meets the qualifications for this role and is well positioned to help lead Montana Baptists into the next season of ministry and mission.

In the weeks leading up to Mpact 2026, Dr. Mewborn will participate in a statewide tour, providing opportunities for pastors and churches across Montana to meet him personally, hear his heart, and ask questions. Details regarding these gatherings will be shared soon.

During Mpact 2026, Convention President Curtis Crow intends to call a special called business meeting, at which the messengers of the Montana Southern Baptist Convention will have the opportunity to vote on Dr. Mewborn as the next Executive Director.

We are grateful for the prayers, patience, and unity shown throughout this process. We remain committed to seeking the Lord’s guidance and trusting Him as He leads our Convention forward.
