Over the past several months, our Executive Director Search Committee has been prayerfully, carefully, and unanimously walking through a process that has required wisdom, patience, and deep dependence on the Lord. What began as a season of transition has become a season of anticipation.
Through interviews, conversations, references, and now the beginning of our Campfire Conversations around the state, we have had the opportunity to hear Dr. Mikey Mewborn share his heart for pastors, for healthy churches, and for the mission of God in Montana. These early gatherings have been relational and encouraging. They have given our pastors and leaders the opportunity to ask questions, hear his story, and begin discerning together what the Lord may be doing in this next chapter for our convention.
In just a few days at MPact 2026 in Billings, our Convention President Curtis Crow will call us into a special called business session to vote on Dr. Mewborn as our next Executive Director. This is more than a procedural moment. It is a spiritual one.
This decision is about the future of our 119 churches. It is about strengthening pastors, encouraging revitalization, planting new works, reaching the next generation, and stewarding the mission God has entrusted to us in Big Sky Country.
I want to say thank you. Thank you for praying. Thank you for engaging. Thank you for asking thoughtful questions and for leaning into this process with unity and grace. The spirit across our convention has been marked by humility and hope.
As we gather at MPact, let’s come ready. Ready to worship. Ready to fellowship. Ready to handle this important moment with prayerful hearts and steady confidence in the Lord’s leadership.
The future of Montana is bright because Christ is building His Church here. And we are grateful to be part of it together.
