About
The Shermans are replanting a church in Wolf Point, on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. Wolf Point Native Church was close to closing and was only being kept open by the pastor of another church. The Shermans have been called here from Arkansas and are excited to see positive changes in the people of Wolf Point and the surrounding area. After failed attempts at finding housing and employment, God has opened doors for both. Billy Joe and Deanne have three girls, Heidi, Haley, and Destiny, and one son, Mason, as well as 6 grandkids.
The Shermans spent several years in youth and kids’ ministry in Brinkley, Arkansas. They began to notice some things in the church that weren’t lining up with scripture, and started to pray and ask the Lord what He would have them do and where He would have them go. The Lord led them to Wynne, Arkansas after Billy Joe graduated from college.
As much as he didn’t want to be back in ministry, Billy Joe felt the pull back in. When he called his pastor and told him that he felt the Lord calling him to preach, the pastor laughed and informed him that he had already entered his name into the pipeline as he knew there was a calling on his life. That afternoon, Deanna said she was just waiting on him to surrender to the call as she had always known.
After praying over and visiting many places, they knew Wolf Point was home. They couldn’t explain it and didn’t understand it, knew the Lord was placing them there.
The Shermans are excited about getting to see people change. To re-plant requires people to accept change and that isn’t an easy thing to do. They are looking forward to witnessing God work in their lives and in the community around them.
Pray that the Lord will continue to set people free through His Word and send men to be restored and to eventually lead in Wolf Point.
