Hello MTSBC Family,
I hope you’re all doing well and finding encouragement as you invest in the next generation across Montana. I wanted to share a few exciting updates about what God is doing through our student ministries and some opportunities that are coming up in the months ahead.
Get Real East Recap
Get Real East was an incredible weekend! Hundreds of students gathered together for worship, teaching, fellowship, and fun. Most importantly, we saw God move in a powerful way as 48 students made decisions to follow Jesus.
This year, Gunnar Dixon served as our speaker and did an outstanding job. Throughout the weekend, he challenged students to pursue a closer relationship with Jesus by looking at four different one-on-one conversations Jesus had throughout Scripture. His messages were biblical, engaging, and centered on helping students understand that Jesus desires a personal relationship with them.
Thank you to every church, youth pastor, volunteer, parent, and student who helped make the weekend possible. It was encouraging to see so many churches represented and students growing in their faith together.
Looking Forward to Get Real West
We’re already looking ahead to Get Real West, which will take place October 23-24 at Crosspoint Community Church in Missoula.
We’re excited for another opportunity to gather students from across Montana for a weekend focused on Jesus, community, and spiritual growth. Be sure to mark your calendars now, and we’ll share more information as the event gets closer.
Introducing E17
One of the things I’ve learned while serving in student ministry is that we are better together. Every church has unique strengths, ideas, and experiences that can help encourage others.
Because of that, I’m excited to introduce a new initiative called E17, inspired by Exodus 17. In that chapter, Aaron and Hur helped hold up Moses’ arms so the people of God could continue winning the battle. That’s the heart behind E17! We want to support one another as we lead and disciple the next generation.
E17 will be a Zoom gathering for youth pastors and youth leaders from across Montana throughout the year. These meetings will be a chance to:
* Share ministry ideas and resources
* Talk about what’s working in our youth ministries
* Learn from one another’s experiences
* Pray for each other and our students
* Build stronger relationships among Next Gen leaders across our state
Whether you’re serving in a large church, a small church, or anywhere in between, we’d love to have you join us.
If you’re interested in being part of E17, send me an email at nathan@therockmontana.com, and I’ll make sure you receive information about upcoming gatherings.
Thank you for your faithfulness in serving students. The next generation matters, and it’s exciting to see how God is working through churches all across Montana. I’m grateful to serve alongside each of you and look forward to what God has in store for the months ahead.
