Hey Montana Baptists,
Not long ago, I was driving across our beautiful state, somewhere between Laurel and Lewistown, when I saw one of those old wooden church signs on the side of the road. It wasn’t fancy, just a few faded boards, a cross on top, and the words “Jesus Christ is Lord.” That simple sign reminded me again what this whole thing is about. Buildings age, staff changes, plans shift, but the Lord we serve stays the same, and His mission never changes.
I can’t tell you what an honor it is to serve you in this season as one of your Co-Interim Executive Directors. Steve Fowler and I have had the privilege of hearing stories from every corner of the state. Stories of baptisms in icy rivers, new church plants finding traction, pastors preaching their hearts out, and faithful saints serving week after week. God is at work in Montana, and it’s beautiful to see.
Transitions like this can feel uncertain, but there are also sacred moments when God reminds us that His church doesn’t rest on any one leader, but on the faithfulness of His people and the power of His Spirit. So as we keep moving forward, let’s keep our eyes fixed on the One who never wavers. He’s writing the next chapter for Montana Baptists, and I believe it’s going to be a good one.
Please keep praying for our Search Committee as they continue their important work and for our state staff as they serve and support churches across this big, beautiful state. Most of all, let’s keep cheering each other on, because we really are better together.
