This past summer, Explore Church, a new church plant in Missoula, took a serving mission trip to Alaska. Follow our daily updates of the trip written by Sacha Hasenyager!
Day 3

We had to leave our host church early in the morning so that they could set up for service. We went down to a nearby bird sanctuary to have our devotions. During our time two of our team members shared Christ with the park host and then we were disrupted by a large moose walking within six feet of us, we didn’t mind!

We worshipped with the Hoffman campus in the morning. It was so good for our team to worship at a different church than our own. It gave them a fresh perspective from a visitor’s viewpoint. Our team had rich discussions afterward on what each of us can do better to make our visitors feel seen.

In the afternoon we headed to Talkeetna to sightsee. Mark Hasenyager and his family visited with his aunt who is a ‘founding member’ of the community. We received an insider’s look to the needs of Alaska as we heard the history and love the people have for their state and culture, coupled with the tough environment and brokenness.
