This past summer, Explore Church, a new church plant in Missoula, took a serving mission trip to Alaska. Follow our daily updates of the trip written by Sacha Hasenyager!
Day 9
Our final day was a busy day of packing, desperately cramming souvenirs into our bags, and cleaning up. Our team member who had witnessed to the woman at the ice cream shop arranged to meet her again at a local market and was able to spend an hour witnessing to her.
We then went to set up church at Set Free and helped prepare dinner. At the church, they have a woman from India whom God has called to serve alongside them. She is the ‘Mother Teresa’ of the neighborhood. Our team was struck by her nurturing heart for people. She spends days each week visiting those in the community, learning their names, and sharing the love of Jesus wherever she goes. Our hearts melted watching Geeta’s passion for those around her to receive victory and freedom through the blood of Christ. That night we had a group of 25 to share with and hear their stories of addiction. Our group did such a great job loving the people and praying for them.
