Return

It was such a challenging task for a small church plant to step out in faith to do a mission trip during covid! We are so thankful for the support of MTSBC to help us make this dream a reality.

Usually, the greatest impact of a mission trip is actually on those who go and serve. After returning from Alaska we have seen this become evident in incredible ways! Before the trip, many of our group felt disconnected relationally and were dependent on the church and ‘what it could do for them’. Our group returned to Montana encouraged, energized, and with a tight bond. Their perspective changed to be focused on how they could serve the church body. Their experience with other church plants gave them a greater understanding of the heavy load it takes. They have more compassion, are the first to sign up to serve, and readily stand with us in prayer.

Four of them have stepped in engaged in further ministry, with one now leaving in January for an 11-month overseas mission trip. This past week we had two homeless men come to church, so many of our Alaska team engaged them in conversation and asked them to return and sit with them the following week.

Many in our church are interested in joining us for our August 2022 trip to Alaska!
