CHURCH STRATEGIES

Churches Helping Churches

Enews, November 2016

It is exciting when churches are willing to come alongside other churches and help when the need arises. That is what makes being a follower of Jesus and a part of a church such an awesome thing. That is what makes us who we are, “churches associating together to help one another in the name and power of Jesus.” You see, I think we need more of that and that is exactly what I have seen lately. Let me share with you a couple of experiences that I have witnessed recently. In October, I was able to be a part of a mission trip with a group of church members ...

MTSBC Forms a New Team

Enews, September 2016

After coming to Montana on a couple of mission trips to Columbus and Big Timber to help Tommy and Charlene Price with mission work, a young family left Pinelake Baptist Church in Mississippi in September of 1984 and moved to Glasgow, Montana to become the pastor of Glasgow Baptist Church.

At Pinelake, BJ had been serving as their Minister of Education. At that time, 32 years ago, Montana was still part of the Northern Plains Convention, which consisted of Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Some things have changed since then but some things have remained the same. We still travel long distances ...

About Church Strategies

Our Strategy team has a three fold purpose that will help our existing churches plan and build strategies to reach their communities with the gospel of Christ; to continue to grow healthy churches and pastors; and to meet with churches and pastoral needs in times of crisis.

This is being done by continued communication between the churches, the team and the state. The team serves as an encourager for the pastors and the churches by communicating, training, meeting needs and making available MTSBC and NAMB resources. It is the goal of the team to be encouragers to help the pastors and churches continue to grow healthy and vibrant by providing input and coaching for pastors and church leaders. This will be done through state meetings (M-Pact Montana, Elevate, Shepherding the Shepherd conference), one-on-one coaching and other training times.

One of the key components that the team will provide is peer to peer coaching and training in the areas of pastoral skills, church outreach and discipleship strategies and leadership development in the church.

The team will be available to churches in times of need and crisis and will be able to come alongside the church to provide resources to help. At times our churches have need of consultants to help them weather through times of discouragement and struggles that come their way. They don’t know where to go for help or for resources. This is where our team will come in.

Those serving on our team with me are BJ Hallmark, Bruce Speer, Mark Langley, Michael Kauffold, Darren Hales, and KJ Ellington. These are pastors and servants who are very capable of helping our churches and I am excited they are on the team.

If you have any questions or have a need, please call me or any of our team. We are here to serve you!
