Who Are We?

We have been married for 15 years and have four wonderful children – Tyler is 13 and likes sports and outdoor activities, Haley is 12 and enjoys acting and writing plays and stories, Katelyn is 10 and enjoys gymnastics and being with her family and Caleb is 4 and enjoys NASCAR racing and wrestling with his brother.

In the August of 2009 Ken began attending Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary/College in Kansas City, Mo. Ken graduated in the spring of 2013 earning a Bachelor degree in Biblical Studies. Before attending Midwestern, we lived and worked in Salmon, Idaho. Ken worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a Wildland Fire Manager. Cary also attended college where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Deaf Studies. She taught second grade for six years and then the Lord called her to stay home and focus on being a wife and homeschooling mother to our children. She has been involved in leading children’s ministry, leading vacation bible school and teaching women’s bible studies.

As a family we have always enjoyed being outside together and enjoying outdoor activities. One of our favorite things to do is take a walk together or find a nice trail to hike. We love being out in God’s creation and marveling at His majesty.

Bonner Area

Bonner sits at the intersection of two major highways. The Blackfoot and the Clark Fork Rivers merge near Bonner. These rivers are a large attraction during the summer season. The community of Bonner, Montana is located 6 miles east of downtown Missoula. Missoula is the 2nd largest city in Montana, with a population of over 70,000. Bonner and the surrounding communities have a population of 7,000. Most of the population commutes to Missoula for work. In 2008 one of Montana’s largest saw mills closed in Bonner leaving over 400 people without work. The saw mill and the logging industry have a long history and have defined who the community was. The sense of “community” was focused around the mill and since the closing of it, nothing has taken its place. The Bonner school (k-8) and the activities associated with it have become a place where people of the area gather together.

Demographics
  • Population is 7,000 and is made up of the communities of Bonner, Milltown, West Riverside, East Missoula, Potomac, and Clinton.
  • There are 6 churches spread out through all the communities ( Southern Baptist, 1 catholic, 1 Lutheran, 1 non-denominational, 2 Community type churches)
  • Average median age is 38 years
  • 59.4% are family households

  • Vision - Outfitting the body to rescue the searching through uniquely Montanan ministries

Who - We will intentionally engage families in Bonner, Montana and surrounding areas who are not currently attending a church. Our focus will be on building relationships with families and individuals to build trust and to display Christ in our lives to them as we all do life together.

Why - Western Montana abounds with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors whether it be hunting, fishing, white water rafting, rock climbing, snowmobiling, skiing, camping or hiking. Unfortunately, this has made it very hard to reach those who are not in church, as these activities typically take place on the weekends. This church plant will not look like a traditional church or meet according to traditional time lines. We will seek to reach the community in a manner and time when they are more available and receptive to meet and worship God.

How - We will reach the community through meeting real, felt needs in people’s lives. We believe that to reach the culture, we need to be intentional about making personal relationships. To do this, church services would have to take place sometime during the work week. This would allow those that we seek to share the gospel with, to still be engaged in their activities with their family and friends on the weekend. It will also provide opportunities for us to seek and build relationships during that time with people doing what they love to do.

    Who Are We?

Bruce and Jessica are natives of Mississippi. They both came to know Jesus in a personal way in high school, and it was during his junior year in high school that he felt God’s call to ministry.

Bruce has served in ministry for the past twelve years in various roles of student ministry and as a pastor in churches in Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi. He desires to be faithful to the Word of God, and he has a heart for preaching, missions, discipleship, and families.

He married his high school sweetheart, Jessica, in 2003, and they have four children (Kati, Isaac, Eli & Emerie). The family enjoys traveling and the outdoors. Bruce enjoys hunting, spending time with family, and taking Jessica on dates.

Bruce holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Blue Mountain College, a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN.

    About Their Ministry

The Crockett family moved to Columbia Falls, MT (CFalls) as part of a team in August of 2016 to plant a church. Our journey to Montana took almost two years to become a reality, but we are nervously excited about what the Lord is going to do here in our town. The Lord directed us to CFalls because of the “hometown” feel we experienced in July 2015 while praying through the Flathead Valley. We desire to be faithful to share the gospel with people and see Jesus change lives and disciple them on their journey with Christ.

Please pray for Bruce, Jessica and their family as they seek to establish roots in Columbia Falls and accomplish God’s work in Columbia Falls, MT.

    Who Are We?

Kyle and Marisa landed in Montana in August of 2016. They have been married for three years and have enjoyed different ministry opportunities together. God has given them a passion to preach Christ where He is not known!

Kyle is originally from Tennessee. He grew up in a Christian home and came to follow Jesus at a young age. During high school, Kyle sensed the call to ministry. Kyle has served in the ministry in various roles over the past six years as a summer missionary, internships in student ministry, resident church planter, and most recently as a children/ missions pastor at a church in Memphis, TN. Kyle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Blue Mountain College, and a Master of Divinity in Missions from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN.

    Our Journey

God has called us to a unique place at a unique time. It all began in 2014 with a joking text message to go to Montana to plant a church and came to light in 2015 through prayer, a fun vision trip, and many ups and downs along the way. Now God has made it clear to us that our calling is to go to Montana and specifically to Columbia Falls to share the gospel, make disciples, and plant a church. God has called us to embark on an epic journey of obedience to Him. Our desire is to declare His glory among all peoples.

    Our Vision

Our desire is to see multiplying communities of Jesus followers across the Flathead Valley, the state of Montana, the United States, and the World.

    About Their Ministry

The vision of Capstone Church is to establish a new church in the heart of the capital city. Focused on a high impact ministry driven by community outreach events and a vibrant Sunday morning gathering, Capstone Church values refreshing worship, engaging children's ministry, and Gospel life change.

The Groteluschens and the Hardimans met at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC, while attending Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Nearing the end of their studies for Masters of Divinity, Caleb and Andrew were both still uncertain of what ministry path might lie ahead. Andrew had envisioned being part of a church planting venture for much of seminary. Caleb felt called back to the West where he grew up. God used a prayer request at small group and a call to plant a church brought these two families together in October 2014. The Groteluschens are from Wyoming and Texas and the Hardimans are from Alabama.

Capstone Church is currently looking for help in several areas. Church partners are still needed in the areas of support and mission teams. Also, Capstone is looking to grow its launch team for those who are willing and led to help for as long as a few weeks, a few months, or even a few years. Please pray for Caleb, Courtney, Andrew, Marisa, and Laney as they follow the Lord’s vision for Helena.

    About Their Ministry

In October 2013 we moved to Missoula MT to train to become church planters. Since then God has laid on our hearts to plant a church in Missoula. At that time we knew little about what this meant but over the past couple years the Holy Spirit has guided us and given us a specific vision and mission.

The specific vision is to create multiple groups throughout the city in order to reach as many people with the gospel as possible. One centralized location will act as a hub. It will be a planning center for all the groups, as well as provide administration and oversight. Each group will be unique in how they conduct their time of worship as each person is created unique by God. Some may meet on a weekday while others may meet on a weekend. Each group will live by the Word of God and be led by the Holy Spirit.

Currently gathering in 2 locations: Mountain Grounds Coffee Shop on Thursday Nights at 6 and Aspen Place Apartment’s every 2nd and 4th Sunday.

To fulfill this vision we want to keep things simple and just focus on making disciples by being Spirit lead, practical, on mission, and relational. Please pray with us for our city and state to come to faith in Jesus and find new life in Him.

    About Their Ministry

Common Ground - a hunger ministry where we feed 80-100 people every Tuesday night.

LIFE Groups meet on Thursday nights! We average 25-30 in Bible studies.

Church of the Rockies is aggressively trying to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We invite you to be a part of what God is doing in Red Lodge, MT by praying, giving, and/or bringing a mission team to help with the actual work. Each year we host a number of mission teams who assist us in anything from construction to sports camps, and a variety of other activities. We also involve youth through student missionary opportunities. We are a young church plant, therefore, we need all the help we can get. We are still in the process of laying a strong foundation on which to build a New Testament Church.

Please pray for Lee, Christie, and their girls as they work to accomplish God will in Red Lodge, MT.

    About Their Ministry

Bedrock Church exists to expand and advance the kingdom of God one disciple at a time. We accomplish this vision through our mission, in which we regularly pursue encountering God, experiencing life together, and engaging our community, one person at a time. We specifically put our mission in to practice through vibrant, exciting worship, Biblical application through preaching, by doing life together in our life groups, and through regular community activity through individuals and corporately as a church. Because 85% of Christians become believers between 4 and 14, our Kids Rock Ministry is a main focus of ours on Sunday mornings and throughout the week by offering our parents resources based on what they are learning each month. We’d love to have you partner with us as we work hard to share the Gospel in Bozeman!
